Just In :Alpine Gravitas- utilizes a gravity mount to attach palette and brush trays to your tripod’s legs, while the “Goat Grip” panel holder attaches separately to your trip mount.
A new batch of Alpine 14x11” Sapele pochades is in. Sapele is an African wood, very similar to Mahogany, but with a slightly lighter color and tighter grain pattern.
We will also have a small batch of Mahogany Panoramic’s - 15x9” - almost as large a palette as the Alpine pochades, but fits even easier in small backpacks - perfect for travel and small form factor painting panels (9x12” and smaller).
European Orders: We do ship to UK and EU. but we invoice separately for shipping and VAT. It is usually $70 for FedEx delivery and 20% VAT, depending on destination, and takes about a week to arrive.
Built for painters more comfortable with a studio setup: painting palette at waist height and canvas at eye level. The palette and brush trays attach to your tripod legs using fold-out mounts, while the panel holder grips onto your adjustable tripod head with a low profile Arca-swiss plate.
The Urban Goat Gravitas has the quickest setup and most compact form factor of any gravity mount easel on the market. And it is beautifully hand crafted with hardwoods that we pick out and mill in our Palo Alto workshop.
Like our Alpine Goat pochades, the trays fold out and feature lampwork glass beads on elastic shock cord to hold your brushes secure and separated. The detachable panel holder uses our spring loaded “goat grip” mechanism to hold your paintings secure, yet allow you to insert or remove instantly with just one hand. When you are done painting, everything that might be messy with paint folds inwards, and the canvas holder detaches from your tripod and fits compactly between the brush trays.

Introducing the Mini Goat - our most compact and affordable paintbox.
Hand crafted from hewn African Mahogany in our Palo Alto workshop, the “Kid” sports a smaller and lighter footprint than our flagship Alpine Goat. Exterior dimensions are 12 by 9 inches, similar in size to an Edge Pro-Gear Medium paintbox, but weighing significantly less.
Ideal for painting on the go, the Mini Goat is small and light enough to fit easily in your day pack, with our without a tripod. The palette is large and deep enough to pre-load with oil paint before you head out. The Goat Grip panel holder supports paintings 16” in width and 12” vertically, but when painting small (6” by 10” or less), you may actually close the Mini Goat with your painting safely held inside above the palette mixing area; this comes in handy when the weather changes and you must pack up quickly, or space is too tight for a wet panel carrier.
